Position

As our first dedicated Chief of Staff to the COO, you will play a critical role in scaling the operational backbone of a fast-moving deep tech company. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a strategic operator who thrives on making things happen—whether that’s driving cross-functional initiatives, owning key workstreams, or helping build the systems that support a growing company.

You’ll work directly with the COO to execute strategic priorities across Finance, Recruiting, People Ops, Office Operations, and GTM support—laying the foundation for long-term growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Execution: Drive forward cross-functional initiatives related to accounting, finance, recruiting, team culture, and operations. Help prioritize, track, and deliver key outcomes.
  • GTM Support: Serve as a trusted operations partner to Sales and Marketing as those teams scale. Support everything from CRM hygiene and pipeline reporting to campaign execution and enablement.
  • People and Culture: Help shape company culture by driving employee engagement initiatives, coordinating team offsites, and supporting onboarding, recruiting, and internal communications.
  • Office and Operational Efficiency: Oversee day-to-day office operations, vendor relationships, and facilities planning to ensure a smooth, high-functioning physical and virtual workspace.
  • Finance and Accounting Coordination: Partner with the COO and external finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting—ensuring the right data gets to the right people at the right time.
  • Special Projects: Own and execute high-priority, time-sensitive projects that don’t fall neatly into any one function, but are critical to moving the company forward.

About You

We’re looking for a sharp, highly motivated generalist who’s excited to learn how great companies are built from the inside out. You’re early in your career, but you’re already known for your hustle, resourcefulness, and ability to make things happen—no matter the challenge. Every week will look different, and that’s exactly what excites you.

Qualifications:

  • Versatile Operator: You’re a quick study who thrives in ambiguous environments and is eager to jump between projects—from building a headcount model to planning a team offsite to coordinating a vendor evaluation.
  • Strong Communicator: You write clearly, speak confidently, and know how to tailor a message to the audience—whether you’re talking to a vendor, an engineer, or a VP.
  • Systems Thinker with Bias for Action: You spot inefficiencies and design better processes. But you don’t get stuck in planning—you roll up your sleeves and make things happen.
  • Detail-Oriented and Reliable: You sweat the small stuff and pride yourself on follow-through. If someone gives you a project, they know it will get done—and done well.
  • Team Player and Relationship Builder: You love working cross-functionally and are energized by supporting others. People like working with you because you’re thoughtful, proactive, and dependable.
  • Hunger to Learn: You’re eager to gain exposure to every part of the business and see this role as a hands-on crash course in startup building.
